World Synchronized Skating championship begins this weekend in Hamilton

The World Synchronized Skating Championships are being held this weekend in Hamilton. A local team from Burlington had their last practice on the ice today before the big show.

23 teams from 19 countries are competing at the Synchronized Skating World Championships. Including a local team from Burlington, ‘Nexxice’.

The event moves around the world but this year it will be held here in Hamilton at the First Ontario Centre.

The last time the world championships were held in Hamilton was in 2015 and ‘Nexxice’ won that year.

Another Canadian team, ‘Les Supremes’ from Quebec will also be taking the stage. The event kicks off Friday, April 8th.
