Worker ran over by road grader in Welland

A construction worker suffered a serious leg injury this morning after a road grader ran him over.

It happened at Highway 406 and East Main Street in Welland, where work crews are finishing a new roundabout.

The worker was airlifted to a Hamilton hospital. The man also sustained injuries when he came into contact with hot tar. The 406 at East Main and the Welland tunnel are closed while police and the Ministry of Labour investigate
