Woman sexually assaulted by intruder during break and enter: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested a 58-year-old man after a woman was sexually assaulted by an intruder while she slept.

Officers were called to a home in Leamington on July 17 for reports of a break and enter.

Police say a man broke into the home while the homeowner was sleeping.

They say the man “inappropriately touched” the woman before he was chased out of the residence.

Marane F. Thompson, of Leamington, was arrested on Wednesday.

He has been charged with sexual assault and break and enter.

Police are reminding residents to ensure doors are kept locked whenever possible.
