Woman pushed to the ground, kicked by group of men: Hamilton police

Hamilton police are investigating after a man and woman were assaulted by a group of men in the city’s downtown core.
Police say the victims were standing outside of the Tim Hortons at 239 King St. West around 2 a.m. on Saturday when they heard a commotion coming from the area of Hess St. North.
Police say the duo spotted four men walking towards them who appeared to be intoxicated. The victims told police the group’s behaviour escalated and they began yelling and swearing.
According to police, the woman was then pushed to the ground and kicked by the men.
Police say the man she was with started yelling at the group to leave the woman alone. He was then pushed into a bush where he hit his head.
The group left the area heading eastbound on King St.
Hamilton police say the man and woman did not suffer serious injuries.
Police did not release any suspect descriptions but said the investigation is ongoing.
