Woman pushed to ground outside Hamilton bar, man charged

A 37-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly pushed a woman to the ground outside of a Hamilton bar on Saturday.
Police were called to The Brain on James St. North around 12:45 a.m. for reports of a disturbance.
When officers arrived, all of the involved parties had left the scene.
Later Saturday morning, a woman contacted police to report she had been assaulted.
The woman said she was chatting with a man she did not know outside of the bar. When the woman ended the conversation and turned to go back inside the bar, it’s alleged the man pushed her to the ground.
The woman said a passerby came to her assistance. She suffered minor injuries to her arm and wrist.
Hamilton police launched an investigation and arrested a 37-year-old Hamilton man on Sunday.
He has been charged him with assault cause bodily harm and was released on a promise to appear in court on May 28.
