Woman injured, Hamilton man arrested in BB gun incident

A Hamilton man has been arrested after allegedly pointing a possible firearm during a fight on Tuesday.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police were called to the area of Cannon St. East and Victoria Ave. North for a weapons call.

Police say there was an altercation between two men and one of them allegedly pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the other.

Investigators say a female was also involved in the incident and suffered a minor injury to her face. She was treated on scene by paramedics.

Police arrested a 28-year-old man at a home nearby and seized a C11 BB gun as well as ammunition.

He has been charged with assault with a weapon, carry concealed weapon, point firearm, utter threats to cause death or bodily harm and possession contrary to order.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court later Wednesday.
