Woman found dead in Welland pool

Niagara Regional Police are investigating the death of a 54 year old woman in a residential swimming pool in Welland.

Police say the woman was home alone and was found at the bottom of her backyard pool by her husband when he came home last night.

Emergency crews were called to the house on Glenpark Court just after 9 pm. Paramedics say she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe the death is accidental. An autopsy will be performed to determine the official cause of death.
