Woman dies after Mt. Nemo fall

A woman is dead after falling at the Mount Nemo Conservation Area in Burlington.
Halton Police say the victim was 42 years old, and was near a lookout in an area on top of the escarpment when she lost her balance and fell. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Halton Police say the woman was hiking and fell at 1:00 Sunday afternoon. She was found at the bottom of a cliff in very rugged terrain. Police say officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Halton EMS and Halton Police were able to recover the victim’s body from an area near the base of the escarpment.

Her family has requested that her identity not be made public at this time.
