Woman dead in Niagara Falls double shooting

(Updated) A woman is dead after a double shooting in a high rise apartment in Niagara Falls. Shots were heard in the Valleyway apartment building around 4:15 am.

A man in his seventies has been taken to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo with a gunshot wound to the head. Police say he is in stable condition.

A resident of the building told CHCH News the woman was pretty sick. “She had a stroke a few years ago and he’d been looking after her for quite a while, and I guess he couldn’t take it any more, looking after her.”

“And then he got sick himself and he was in pretty rough shape. He was pretty depressed.”
