Halton police are investigating after a woman was swarmed by a group of teenagers near the Sound of Music Festival in Burlington.

The 28-year-old woman was walking alone around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the area of Guelph Line and Lakeshore Road when she was attacked by 12 to 15 teenagers.

She was held by a teenaged boy while several females punched her in the face and took her bag containing her cell phone and identification, according to police.

The woman was reportedly taunted by the group of teens first, and she decided to run and hide near a house before the attack took place.

Police have released a description of a male and four female suspects.

The lone male is described as white, approximately 17 years old, tall with athletic build, and was wearing a white hat on backwards, and a white and red t-shirt, possibly a soccer jersey.

The three female suspects are described as also being approximately 17 years old, they have slim builds and tanned complexions.

Police are saying that they believe this was a completely random attack, and anyone with information is asked to call Halton Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
