Woman arrested after 2 Hamilton police officers were hit during a ride check

Hamilton police have arrested the 19-year-old woman wanted on a warrant after two officers were hit during a ride check program on New Year’s eve.

Police say Hannah Pietrantuono of Hamilton, surrendered to police in Brantford Thursday afternoon.

Pietrantuono is facing charges in connection with the ride check incident which sent two officers to hospital with serious injuries after a 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe drove through the ride lanes.

Police say both officers are now recovering at home.

Pietrantuono was also wanted in connection with another incident earlier the same day, where a driver struck a police cruiser during an attempted arrest.

She is now facing a number of charges including impaired operation, criminal negligence cause bodily harm, and fail to comply with probation.
