Woman abuse prevention month

November is women abuse prevention month.

On Monday, the Halton Violence Prevention Council held an event to speak out on the issue and to hang its “act against violence” banners throughout the region.

The council launched an initiative called “women helping women” this year to encourage victims of violence to speak up and help each other.

The council suggests speaking to your children about healthy relationships, and learning how to speak to friends and co-workers who you suspect may be in an abusive relationship.
