Woman, 63, charged with first-degree murder of baby in 1985: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a 63-year-old woman with the historic murder of a baby.

Katherine Thompson, of St. Mary’s, has been charged with first-degree murder in the 1985 death of Meghan Thompson.

Police say the victim was just 25 days old at the time of her death.

Back in October, the OPP and Stratford Police Service launched an investigation into the infant’s death in Perth County roughly 36 years ago.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and no additional information will be released at this time.
