Woman, 22, charged in Niagara Falls human trafficking investigation

A 22-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a human trafficking investigation in Niagara Falls.
Police launched the investigation back in March after reviewing online advertisements. Investigators determined a woman in her 20s from Mexico was the victim of human trafficking.
Police believe the alleged incidents took place on March 1 and 2.
On Friday, Toronto police arrested Jocelyne Sarmiento-Bustillos at the request of Niagara police.
She has been charged with trafficking of a person, receiving material benefit, material benefit from sexual services and advertising another person’s sexual services.
The investigation remains ongoing.
