Witnesses sought in early-April sex assault of teen in Hamilton park

Hamilton police are looking for witnesses of a sexual assault of a teenager that happened in early April on a trail near Battlefield Park in Stoney Creek.

Police say that on April 3 around 2 p.m. a man allegedly approached and sexually assaulted a 17-year-old who was walking in the area south of the park located at 77 King St. West.

The suspect is described as a bald, white man with brownish sun-spotted skin, around fifty years of age, approximately five-foot-10 tall and overweight. He was clean-shaven and said to have hairless arms and large lips.

He was reportedly wearing a brown baseball cap with white mesh backing, rectangular sunglasses, a grey shirt with a red and white logo over the chest that read “Stoney Creek Hamilton”, and grey and neon yellow tennis shoes.

The suspect’s vehicle is thought to be a newer-model grey two-door Dodge Ram pick-up truck.
