Winter weather travel advisory in effect for Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville

Environment Canada says a winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Friday morning.

Drivers in Hamilton, Burlington, and Oakville are being warned to leave extra time for a messy morning commute.

A lake effect snow band from western Lake Ontario is currently impacting the areas.

The weather agency says there may be low visibilities at times. Moderate snow will affect the drive for some areas between Grimsby and Oakville.

Police are reminding motorists to slow down and prepare for changing conditions.
