Many started the day with a windshield scraper and a slow commute. The snow fell gently, but hit hard.
If you already brought out your patio furniture, you may be regretting it. But don’t worry, Terra Greenhouses experts say your garden should be okay.
Damage would have been worse if we’d had an early, warmer spring.
“A lot of plants in people’s gardens haven’t opened yet. The tender leaves haven’t opened, the buds haven’t broken, so they’re going to be fine. A lot of the growth is still in the ground, or it’s hard wooden stalks. So nothing is going to happen to that,” says Debbie Masters of Terra Greenhouse in Waterdown.
“If you have little spring bulbs coming up, crocus, daffodil in bloom now, their bloom’s going to be shortened.”
If you have any blooms outside, it’s best to bring them in or cover them at night, at least for the next few days.
