Hamilton has a new millionaire.

The winning ticket from Friday night’s Lotto Max draw, which is worth $50 million, was sold in the city.

The winner won’t be known until they come forward, which could as early as Monday.

One expert says there are some common mistakes lottery winners make.

Marvin Ryder from the DeGroote School of Business says, “The first problem people have when they win the lottery whether it’s 50 million or 10 million is that they get it in their head that it’s a limitless supply of money.”

Ryder recommends winners pay off their mortgage, credit cards and car loans.

Before you even think about buying anyone anything special, Ryder suggests you make a plan.

If you didn’t win this week don’t worry because next week’s draw is worth $12 million.
