Winners of 4th annual Niagara Falls Spooky Awards announced

With over 75 homes vying for a top spot in Niagara Falls’ spookiest event of the year, nine have earned a top spot in the fourth annual spooky Awards.

The event is a free, outdoor, Halloween-themed decorating competition open to all Niagara Falls residents that awards prizes for People’s Choice, Judge’s Choice and Best Effects.

Displays were lit throughout the evenings of Oct. 27 to 29 for residents to tour the spookiest homes in the city and cast their votes.

In the People’s Choice category, first place was claimed by 5394 Twidale Ave., followed by 3250 Harleyford Cres. in second and 4120 Campbell Ave. coming up in third.

Judge’s Choice saw slightly different results, with 6763 Randy Dr. coming out on top. This winner would be trailed by fan favourite 5394 Twidale Ave. and the category was rounded out by 6088 Corwin Ave.

In the final category of Best Effects, 4120 Campbell Ave. saw a win, with 5394 Twidale Ave. maintaining its hold in second place and 6763 Randy Dr. grabbing the third place spot.

Before heading out for trick-or-treating, residents in the area are encouraged to check out the map of all the homes going all out this Halloween, including the winners, that can be found on the city’s website.
