The Long Point Region Conservation Authority has issued a flood watch for the Lake Erie shoreline.

A strong wind warning is in effect in the area for Monday afternoon and evening.

Winds are expected to reach 55 km/h with gusts hitting 90 km/h.

Strong waves action is expected and lake levels are expected to rise and remain elevated into early Tuesday.

The agency says minor flooding is expected to impact low-lying areas along the shoreline.

People are being asked to use caution along the shoreline and keep pets and children away from these areas.

The flood watch is in effect until 9 a.m. Tuesday.
