Wicked waves lead to lake rescue
Wednesday night’s storm brought with it some choppy water on Lake Ontario.
That lead to some tense moments for a few boaters in Burlington.
Emergency crews were called to Beachway Park behind Joseph Brant Hospital after three people were tossed off their boats and into the wavy water.
Burlington Fire crews rescued two people thrown from one boat, while Hamilton police towed another man and his boat back to shore.
No one was injured, but damage to one of the sails is estimated at around $10,000.
Wednesday night is a training night for the Burlington Beach Catamaran Club; and while they had a bit of a challenge on the water, others enjoyed the two metre waves.
