WestJet passengers refusing to wear a mask could face year-long travel ban

Refusal to wear a mask on a WestJet flight could result in a 12-month travel ban.
Starting Sept. 1, there will be a three-step process to deal with passengers over the age of two who refuse to wear a mask.
Passengers will first be asked to put on a mask by the cabin crew. That will be followed by a warning.
If the passenger still won’t wear a mask, that person will be put on the WestJet no-fly list for a year.
All passengers travelling on a Canadian aircraft have been required to wear a mask since April in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Other airlines such as Air Canada have said that a “small number” of guests have had to be sanctioned for not complying with mask rules.
WestJet also requires their passengers to provide contact information in the case of an infected individual on board.
