Westdale Secondary School in hold and secure after ‘external threat’: police

Hamilton police say students and staff members at Westdale Secondary School were in a hold and secure for over one hour Friday due to an “external threat.”

In a tweet shortly before 11 a.m., officers said they were at the scene to investigate.

Westdale Secondary School is in a Hold & Secure . @HamiltonPolice have just arrived at the school.

Hamilton police said the hold and secure was lifted just after 12 p.m. and the incident was resolved with no issues.

Officers have not specified why the school was in a hold and secure at this time.
