Wesley day centre fundraiser

A local bluegrass band is pitching in to help save the Wesley day centre after it announced it will be forced to close its doors.
The day centre provides services for vulnerable people in the city, many are homeless. The centre announced it will close at the end of August after the landlord on Ferguson avenue wouldn’t renew their lease. But the “chopped liver” bluegrass band is determined to use their platform to raise awareness for all the good the centre provides.
The band regularly plays at the “Casbah” night club, but this afternoon they turned their concert into a fundraiser to collect donations and supplies for the centre. With the help of the city, they would like the money to also go towards establishing a new safe injection site.
