Welland man arrested in connection to human trafficking investigation

Niagara police have arrested a man from Welland in connection with an ongoing human trafficking investigation.

Officers say the investigation focused on the alleged trafficking of an adult woman throughout the Niagara region.

On April 17, police arrested Sanjay Ferguson, 31, of Welland. He is believed to go by the alias ‘Kevin Ontario,’ ‘DJ KV’ and ‘Mr. Provincial.’

Ferguson is being held in custody pending a bail hearing, which is expected to take place April 18 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.

Due to the nature of the investigation, police believe there are additional witnesses and victims.
