Welland man, 20, charged with shooting pellet gun at group of young people last summer

A Welland man has been arrested and charged in a months-long investigation into a BB gun being fired from a van.

Niagara police say officers were called to the area of Colbeck Dr. and Stormm Ct. in Wellamd on the evening on Aug. 25.

Five young people were walking along Colbeck Dr. when a van pulled up beside them.

Police say one of the three people inside the van fired on the group with a BB gun.

One of the pellets hit one of the young people but they were not injured. The rear window of a nearby parked car was shattered.

Issac Christopher Larch, 20, was arrested on Sunday. He is charged with:

  • Discharge Firearm (Airgun) with Intent
  • Point Firearm
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Mischief Under $5,000

Another man, Justin Maurice, 19, also from Welland was arrested in September. He’s charged with accessory after the fact to an indictable offence.
