Welland Canal launches 2018 navigation season

It’s a sure sign of Spring.  The St. Lawrence Seaway opened today for its 60th navigation season.

The Algoma Captain Henry Jackman was the first ship through the canal.

The downbound vessel scheduled to kick off the Top Hat Ceremony in Port Colborne has been delayed picking up cargo in Ohio. However, another downbound vessel arrived first instead, the Algoma Captain Henry Jackman. @CHCHNews pic.twitter.com/SYnkbn7vHe
