Welland assault victim has life-threatening injuries

Niagara Regional Police are investigating a vicious assault that has left the 28 year-old victim in hospital with life-threatening injuries.  Police were called to the incident early Sunday evening in the Alberta Street/Ontario Road area of Welland. Investigators say the man was attacked with a crowbar by two suspects.  He then fell to the roadway and was subsequently struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by a 69 year-old man.  Police say this was a targeted attack.  They’re looking for a 45 year-old white man who’s 6’4” tall and weighing about 240 pounds.  He was wearing a tan coloured coat. The younger suspect is described as being 25 years old, 5’9” tall and wearing a purple and white hoodie.  Anyone with information is urged to call Niagara Regional Police or Crimestoppers.
