Weekend death at Crystal Beach

Friends are remembering a St. Catharines teen who plunged to his death at Crystal Beach.

They’ve set up a memorial group on Facebook for 18 year old Clayton Wismer.

He was a graduate of Governor Simcoe Secondary School in St. Catharines.

Over the weekend, he fell almost ten metres from a flag pole at the pier on the beach, not far from Ridgeway Road.

Wismer landed on the cement before ending up in the water.

Police say several people tried to help revive him.

An autopsy is being done Monday.
