Waterloo police say they have made an arrest in connection with the sexual assaults of three young girls.

The alleged incidents took place over a six-year span at apartment buildings in the Waterloo region.

Police say the first incident happened back in October 2013 and involved a four-year-old girl. The second was in October 2017 and involved a six-year-old girl.

Police say the most recent incident occurred last month when a four-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in an apartment building’s common area.

A 32-year-old man was arrested at a home in Milton Thursday night. He is charged with three counts of sexual assault and sexual interference.

Police have not released the man’s identity but say DNA analysis linked all three alleged sex assaults.

Investigators say while they are confident they have the person responsible for the incidents in custody, they are still appealing for anyone with further information to come forward.
