Hamilton man facing murder charges in Kitchener woman’s death

Waterloo Police have announced that 24 year old Ager Hasan from Hamilton faces second degree murder charges in the death of 22 year old Melinda Vasilije.

Police said the biopsy, conducted on Friday, concluded that Vasilije died from multiple stab wounds. She was found dead in her apartment on Country Hill Drive in Kitchener at 3 a.m. on Friday. Police reported that the murder was targeted.

According to friends, Vasilije had recently ended the relationship with Hasan. On April 3rd Waterloo regional police were called to a domestic incident involving Vasilije and Hasan. Hasan was charged with break and enter and assault and was under strict conditions not to contact Vasilije but 3 weeks later she was killed.

Hasan crossed into the United States via the Peace Bridge early Friday morning. He took his mother’s 2016 Honda HRV and was last spotted at 10 am Friday morning by Pennsylvania state police at a Walmart stealing a licence plate.
