Even though the markets ended the week higher, one of Canada’s best-known companies – BlackBerry maker Research In Motion – continues to struggle.

Its stock fell to $7.54 a share – a 20 percent drop – following yesterday’s news that the Waterloo-based company will slash 5,000 jobs globally. But as Kate Carnegie tells us, despite the news of the job cuts, Waterloo’s mayor remains optimistic.
