Parents of children at “Creative Me” preschool in Waterdown are wondering where to turn, after the facility closed its doors. The owner wrote to parents saying that as a result of legal complications.

As parents hunt for a new care provider emails were sent to CHCH providing more context as to why “Creative Me” closed it’s doors in the first place. The owner who signs off as Meg describes financial struggles saying quote:

“The landlord has exercised her legal right to take back use of the building. ”
“I can only assume that Creative Me preschool will now be run under the leadership of the landlord.”

Meg apologized for the disruptions but parents say a day later the previous owner and landlord, a woman named Anny sent an email of her own identifying a legal matter but didn’t go into detail. In the email Anny says she would provide care for the affected families and the letter concluded with this:

“I will continue to ensure that your best interests are always my priority.”

The owners, past and current could not be reached for a comment.

One parent says Anny offered to provide care for additional payment, meaning parents would have to pay for the last two weeks of January twice. While some have received their void cheques back, one family says it’s is out of pocket $180 and is hoping to get that money back. Families say there were over 50 kids enrolled at “Creative Me”.
