Virgin Galactic’s SpaceShip Two has crashed, killing one pilot.

The company founded by Richard Branson says the aircraft suffered an “in-flight anomaly” during a powered test flight today that resulted in the loss of the aircraft.

Two pilots were in SpaceShip Two for today’s test run.

Reports say there was an explosion, and then debris was spotted.

Before today’s flight, the most recent aerial outing was on October 7th.

More than 700 customers have paid as much as $250,000 dollars for a ride on the rocket plane.
