Peel Regional Police have released a dramatic video showing the pursuit of two suspects involved in an armed carjacking in Brampton Thursday afternoon.
Investigators say a 43-year-old man from King, Ont., went to a parking lot in the area of Biscayne Crescent and First Gulf Boulevard around 2 p.m. to sell his 2022 Mercedes G Wagon to a potential buyer.
When the two suspects arrived, one of them showed a firearm and demanded the victim’s car keys.
One of the suspects drove away in the victim’s vehicle while the other man followed.
Officers from multiple bureaus, the tactical unit, provincial carjacking joint task force and a York Regional Police helicopter were able to track the vehicles to Weston Road and Highway 401, where they met up with an F-150 truck.
Peel police attempted to stop the Mercedes G Wagon before it collided with the police cruiser and fled.
