Video circulating online of 13-year-old boy being assaulted by multiple people

Niagara police say a group of about 50 teenagers watched as a 13-year-old boy was punched and kicked on the ground in Grimsby. The teen was assaulted by several people.  Videos of the incident have been circulating online.

The incident happened last Wednesday at a park in a neighbourhood near Blessed Trinity high school in Grimsby.

CHCH News blurred the video so as to not identify the underage victim and others involved. Teenagers CHCH spoke with today say students from Blessed Trinity and Grimsby secondary were there.

At one point, the attackers steal the teen’s shoes, and one person can be heard threatening him.

The students tell CHCH News the fight was supposed to be between two boys, but suddenly things changed and other people started jumping in.

So far four people have been charged, one with assault and three with robbery. Police expect to lay more charges considering how many people were involved.

Police say the victim only had minor injuries.
