Video captures a truck running over a Canada Goose

A disturbing video has caused outrage online. Surveillance cameras captured a pick-up truck pulling into a business’ driveway in Stoney Creek and running over a Canada goose. The man who posted the video online says it appears to have been deliberate.
In the video you can see a Canada goose splashing in a pot hole. A truck narrowly misses the bird coming in, but does a U-turn and runs over and kills the goose as it exits.
Employees at the trucking business off of South Service road say the geese had starting building a nest about 2 weeks ago on the property. They believe the father goose was the one who was run over, just a few feet away from the nest.
The pick-up truck had a company logo on it, Impero Contracting. When we contacted the owner he told us that the video is disturbing and that the employee who was behind the wheel says he didn’t notice the bird and that it was an accident. The business will be making a donation to the Hamilton Humane Society.
The ministry of natural resources says it is investigating the incident and does have the authority to lay charges if warranted.
