Couple gunned down in Brantford, police search for motive

UPDATE
Investigators are still trying to determine a motive in Thursday’s deadly shooting of a Brantford couple.
Larry Reynolds, 64, and Lynn VanEvery, 62, were gunned down at their family home on Park Rd. South around 8 a.m.
During a news conference on Friday, Brantford Police Chief Geoff Nelson said there were other people at the home when the shooting occurred but they were uninjured.

Police confirmed it was not a drive-by shooting but do believe it was targeted. “The motive remains an ongoing focus of the investigation,” said Nelson.
Two vehicles are believed to have been involved in the shooting including a black Chrysler 300 that was seized a few streets away from the home. The other suspect vehicle is described as being black or grey.
Brantford police say at least one suspect is being sought. They were seen wearing all black and a balaclava covering their face.
“Those responsible are going to be held accountable for their actions,” said Nelson.
Police are expected to release surveillance video later Friday. Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to contact police.
