Vehicle crashes into business at east end Hamilton intersection once again

A vehicle crashed into a Hamilton business early Wednesday morning, marking the third time a building at that particular intersection has been hit since 2020.
Hamilton police say that the collision happened just after 4:30 a.m. when a vehicle crashed into Poke Co. located at the corner of Ottawa Street North and Cannon Street.
There have been no injuries reported in connection with the incident.
Officers say city officials have determined that the damage to the southeast corner of the business does not interfere with the structural integrity of the building and that damages are estimated to be around $10,000.

This corner location is the former home of coffee shop The Cannon that similarly had a vehicle crash into the shop in 2020.
The Cannon would move to another location across the street and would once again have a vehicle collide with the building back in August of this year.
With this being the third incident in which a building has been hit here, calls are now coming from residents for more to be done to keep the intersection safe.
There has yet to be an official response from the city.
Police say they are continuing to investigate the cause of this latest collision.
