Updated: World wide manhunt for Magnotta

Warning: disturbing details. An international manhunt is under way for 29 year old Luka Rocco Magnotta.

He’s the man wanted in the murder and dismemberment of a victim, whose body parts were then sent in the mail.

Montreal police say they`re almost sure he has left the country. Interpol has now added him to its wanted persons list, posting a picture and information on its website.

Magnotta – originally from Scarborough – is a porn actor alleged to have appeared in online videos torturing kittens. Police in Montreal have confirmed a gruesome video was posted online last Friday showing the body being dismembered.

On Tuesday the torso of a man was found in a suitcase in the trash near Magnotta`s apartment in Montreal. That same day a foot arrived in the mail at Conservative party headquarters and a package with a hand inside – addressed to the Liberal party — was found at an Ottawa postal warehouse.

Police searched the apartment and other body parts were found, and there was blood all over a bed and in a refrigerator.

Police believe Magnotta was in “a relationship” with the victim. They haven`t released his name but have said he`s a man in his 30s; they believe the victim was reported missing in Montreal several days earlier.

What’s even more disturbing than the fact Magnottta is still a free man — is that he wrote a note saying he would kill again. The note was included with the body parts sent to the Conservative party headquarters and a package destined for Liberal headqaurters but intercepted at a Canada Post depot. It said that there are more body parts to come, and that the author would kill again. Sean Leathong reports.
