Unfounded bomb threat at Welland Walmart prompts evacuation

Police say staff and customers at a Walmart in Welland had to evacuate after a bomb threat Wednesday evening.
Officers say an employee notified police shortly before 9 p.m. after receiving an anonymous call saying there was a bomb inside of the store.
Investigators helped staff with an evacuation of the premise.

A canine trained in explosive detection searched the store, concluding there were no explosives that posed any threat to employees or customers inside.
Police lifted the evacuation order nearly one hour later.
