Boy battling leukemia gets dream shopping spree in Hamilton

It was a morning of pure happiness for one little boy.
Six-year-old Ethan Mahajan won a contest that allowed him to run through a Hamilton Toys’R’Us and grab as many toys as he could in three minutes.
“Ethan at six years old has gone through more than you and I can imagine, and for three minutes he had pure elation and joy,” said Melanie Teed-Murch, President, Toys’R’Us .
Ethan was diagnosed with leukemia back in June. The Starlight Foundation and Toys’R’Us teamed up to give Ethan and 14 other sick kids across the country a shopping spree.
The families applied for the annual contest and winners were randomly selected.
His father was emotional throughout the whole experience and says this is a dream come true for Ethan saying, “These opportunities will give him an opportunity to just to have fun as a child again and forget about the fact that he’s battling this terrible disease.”
Dozens of toy cars and $3,000 later, Ethan could not wipe the smile off his face.
