Ukraine president addresses Canadian Parliament, calls for no-fly zone over his country

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made an impassioned and very personal appeal to Canadians for more help for his country.

Zelenskyy spoke by a digital link to a special session of parliament on Tuesday.

He says western sanctions are not enough to end the war, and once again asked for the west to impose a no-fly zone over the country.

Speaking directly to Canadians in a special address full of references to our cities, Volodymyr Zelenskyy asked us to imagine if Canada was under attack.

As he introduced the President, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced new sanctions on Russian officials including government and military elites who helped enable the invasion, but along with its NATO partners, Canada remains against establishing a no-fly zone over fears of escalating the war.
