Ukraine votes

Ukrainians turned out in droves to vote in today’s presidential elections.
Canadian observers say ballot counting will continue overnight and into tomorrow. Exit polls suggest Petro Poroshenko, known as the country’s chocolate king, has won more than 50 per cent of the vote, and therefore leadership of the country.
Poroshenko declared his victory after the exit polls were revealed. His closest competitor, best known for her role in the Orange Revolution 10 years ago, conceded defeat.
About 350 Canadians were in the country as election observers.
