U.S. Steel’s new investment

U.S. Steel is investing $187 million into their “Mon Valley Works” plant in Braddock, Pennsylvania.
The money will be used to re-line one of the plant’s blast furnaces, and make improvements to its railroad infrastructure.
However, the funds won’t be used to expand the facility.

The company’s Canadian counterpart filed for bankruptcy protection in September, citing operating losses of $2.4 billion.
