U.S Steel secret deal

A secret deal between U.S. Steel and the former Harper government may soon be secret no longer.
The Ontario Court of Appeal has ruled to allow a bankruptcy court judge to release the details of the deal reached between the company and government under the Investment Canada Act. It means workers, retirees and the city of Hamilton may finally get to see what led to the company’s restructuring.
Members of Steelworkers locals 1005 and 8782 say the details are crucial to protecting their rights, because it will show them what the government did in exchange for dropping a lawsuit against U.S. Steel over broken investment, employment and production promises given to the company when it brought Stelco nine years ago.
