U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for COVID-19.

The positive test came just hours after the White House announced that senior aide Hope Hicks came down with the virus after travelling with the president several times this week.

Trump has cancelled plans to attend a fundraiser and to fly to Florida for a rally.

According to Trump’s personal physician, the pair are doing well and plan to remain at home at the White House while infected.

At 74 years old, Trump is at higher risk of serious complications from the virus.

Trump has spent much of the last year downplaying the threat of COVID-19.
