The United States is is considering offers from about 15 countries on tariff agreements and is close to deals with some of them, according to White House economic advisor, Kevin Hassett.

The global trade economy was left reeling after President Trump announced a stunning reversal of his so-called “liberation day” reciprocal tariffs Wednesday, leaving many asking what Trump’s true intentions are with these market-crashing tariff policies.

While a number of countries have paused their countermeasures, and approached the White House with deals to remove the new 10 per cent baseline tariff, others are still waging this trade war.

China is ramping up its response to Trump’s staggering 125 per cent import taxes, and Canada remains left out of any reprieve.
