Tyson gets a forever home

We have some happy news to tell you: Tyson, the German Shepherd that nearly died after being brutally attacked by two other dogs, has a new home.
Dozens of people applied to adopt Tyson, and the winning family took him home today. But first Tyson was out in the backyard at the Lincoln County Humane Society, chasing his new sister “Lilly.”
“She loves other dogs, but he is adorable. He’s gotten cuter since the first time I’ve seen him. We’re really happy.”
Alison and Darrell Verkuyl are Tyson’s new owners. Alison says it broke her heart when she saw pictures of Tyson the day he was rescued by the humane society.
His fur was torn off. He was bleeding. He’s only about eight months old. He’d been attacked by two other dogs in his Thorold home.
His former owner’s now facing charges.
“He’s coming along. He’s got some issues with frightening and stuff like that. He’ll make a full recovery absolutely. Most of the stuff’s in his mind. The superficial wounds have healed.”
31 people applied to adopt Tyson. The Verkuyl’s won the lottery, in part because Lilly and Tyson get along so well.
