Written and directed by Tyler Perry, BOO! A Madea Halloween is the eighth film in his Madea franchise. Perry stars as the tough-as-nails matriarch and a few other characters while Bella Thorne, Diamond White, Cassi Davis, Patrice Lovely, Andre Hall, and Yousef Erakat co-star.

In TYLER PERRY’S BOO! A MADEA HALLOWEEN, Madea winds up in the middle of mayhem when she spends a hilarious, haunted Halloween fending off killers, paranormal poltergeists, ghosts, ghouls and zombies while keeping a watchful eye on a group of misbehaving teens.

While most of the Madea film’s originated as stage plays, the idea for A Madea Halloween came from a simple name drop in a different movie. “Ghosts and goblins — that’s just not my thing,” explains Perry. “Then Lionsgate called me and said, ‘In his film Top Five, Chris Rock made a joke about a movie called Boo! A Madea Halloween. Have you ever thought about doing a Halloween movie?’ So I came up with an idea I thought would be hysterical and wouldn’t take Madea too far out of her lane. This is not your typical Halloween movie — there are so many pee-your-pants moments. Anyone who sees this movie should bring Depends.”
